Getting in touch
I understand that taking that first step and getting in touch can be difficult, especially if you haven't experienced talking therapy before. However there is no commitment on your part. When you do feel ready to speak to someone you can either ring me or email me. In either case, if you provide me with your phone number and a convenient time for me to call, I will get back to you as soon as I can. How would we proceed?
In the first instance I offer a consultation where we can discuss and explore what has led you to contact a therapist. This lasts up to an hour. During this time we can talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you may hope to get out of the therapy, plus more practical matters such as time and frequency of sessions.
The length of time people attend is variable. Some people decide to come for a few sessions to address something specific. Some come for longer and some people decide that they will commit to a longer process, because the solutions to the issues that they wish to address may take more time to unfold. You can decide this from the outset or as we go along.
